27.5.2010New video...

Boring a hole for all that we did not present any interesting happenings around the racing, and especially about our MS Racing team, we filled out a new video. See our work in peace laureate director, Vojta Pangrác.

11.5.2010MS Racing has a fourth firm ... legendary Monza.

Ondrej Jezek twelfth place at Monza in the next race of the World Superstock series still lagging far Stock for the expected results of MS Racing team this season.

Martin Smrz /manager MS Racing/

"I have not solved the basic problem and the power of a motorcycle at top speed. Without resolving this basic issue we are not able to get a better result. Time schedule did not allow us to plant yet to work on tuning engines. Now the planned plant is released Czech race in Brno, which we wanted to test and use all the forces of jumping to resolve the problem mentioned. A great positive is a great chassis Aprilia RSV, which requires a minimum loads. That unplanned five-week break and definitely good for the whole team that works, basically since January without a stronger leave. Big thanks to the mechanics, who are doing excellent work and especially riders who, notwithstanding the fact that falls short of our expectations going into every race full time.

We are not far from us back in the top ten prestigious championship. We have a great working team, and two fast riders. I can promise only that it is all a matter of time."

Ondrej Jezek - 12. position

"With the weekend in Monza can not be satisfied. In the first qualification and the following free practice, which were on the water, I have shown that placement in the Top 5 for me there is no problem. In the second qualifying was very dry and the performance showed a deficit of our Aprilia. The result was to 20th. position to start. That I had the race much improved, but still that's no reason we want. Five day break will I use to relax and then to the physical preparation of the second half of the season in which they promise to return to the top position."

Michal Salac - 20. position

"In the first chicane after the start I got into the fray of riders and I had to reluctantly leave the trail. Then I drove the whole race lost. We are not satisfied with the placement, but I felt good from the time I pulled into the plant itself. Thanks to the mechanics for a great job and I am absolutely satisfied with the chassis of new Aprilia. I'm waiting for best career in this team and Aprilia motorcycles."

28.4.2010Unsuccessful Assen.

After a good outcome for both our riders to Valencia, each one of us expected much more in Assen. However, the company went into last weekend and it was the third race in a row, the FIM Superstock Cup 1000 class.

Ondra, our senior pilot, led a solid job all weekend. The team is still grappling with the new Aprilia machines that are not yet in full starting field tips. However, Ondra showed the power and potential of the team and start to put into 15th place on the fourth row. During the race, "jezour" fought the good points, but unfortunately in the last lap when he was at the 13th position, the machine told the service. (Fault mechanics - most petrol)

Michal Salac junior had a bad weekend. As he said himself, especially struggling with himself and just did not do it. As a professional racer, this race wants to forget as quickly as possible (finished on the 21. position withaut gain points) and focus on another venture, which will be held for 14 days, May 9 at Italian Monza.

30.3.2010Testing in Portimao - 3rd and 4th day.

Tuesday was the final day of testing at Portimao, Portugal, where the season's first FIM Superstock 1000 race is to take place. The weather turned out excellent, which made the job a lot easier. Both Ondrej Jezek and Michal Salac made around 170 laps, so they had an opportunity to get into riding once again after the long winter.

Ondra Jezek:

"I am satisfied with the outcomes of the testing. We are getting close to the ideal settings for this tough circuit. It is clear that we can't be prepared for all eventualities, but I believe we will be able to do some fine tuning during the testing before race. Once again, the team is to be praised for their work during the tests. I caught up with my last season's best times, I think that's a good start. At the end, we were on the circuit together with Michal. He is a fast learning rider. I think we can expect fair results from him, soon."

Michal Salac:

„I would like to thank my more experienced team colleague Ondra. He helped me finding the optimal track on the 1000cc, which differs from the one on 600cc. The next thanks goes to the mechanics for the great job thez did during the testing. We managed to find the right settings for the first race with Ondra.I'm looking forward to next week, I believe in good results."

Best lap times: Ondra Jezek: 1:47,8 ; Michal Salac: 1:51,9

15.3.2010Testing in Portimao - 1st and 2nd day.

MS Racing goes through last pre-season testing in Portimao before the start of FIM Superstock 1000 series.

Because these are the first tests on dry track, the first day was mostly about getting to know the motorcycle. The basic engine, suspension, and electronics settings have been reviewed, where the complexity of Aprilia's electronics in comparison to Honda's is to be pointed out. The second day, both riders were getting faster, lap times were comparable with other competitors. Others, currently testing at Portimao, are Badovini-Beretta (BMW Italia), Rene Mahr (MTM Suzuki) and Czech SMS Racing with Philippe B. Thiriet and Tomas Svitok, riding Hondas.

Ondra Jezek:

"We were experiencing some difficulties with electronics, yesterday, which had a negative impact on the testing. TOday, everything was fine, and I caught the right pace. Even though the lap times aren't those we would expect, yet, we are getting closer. We still have two days left, so no stress..."

Michal Salac:

"We worked on suspension settings today. I feel very confident about the motorcycle. Our mechanics managed to get rid of the trouble with electronics. We still have a lot of work to do, but we can be grateful for the mechanics, they are working at 11o%, for which I'd like to thank them. It makes my job a lot easier. I'm really looking forward to next testing day."

12.3.2010Matej Smrz: Only the title of IDM Champion can satisfy me this year.

We had an opportunity to make an interview with Matej Smrz, who summarized his last Supersport season, with IDM being mentioned, as well.

Questions:

Matej, looking back at the beginning of last season, what were the goals you planned to achieve with Factory Racing?

The intended goals were higher than the actual results. I supposed, that for EUR 40.000 (half of contractual price) we paid to Factory Racing I would get satisfactory support. UNfortunately, this was not the case, so we backed out from the contract.

How would you then summarize your last Supersport season?

It was definitely a pretty expensive tryout. But there is no use in crying over what happened, rather look forward to things to come. It's a finished business, for me as well as for MS Racing, we can just regret wasting our money on it.

Your fans will see you in the IDM, this year. How do you think of this engagement?

I am glad for it. As I said, my and Jakub's home team, MS Racing, our father's team, gave out great effort and finances for us to race. Now we have great equipment and facilities, so we can show what we're worth, and our dad has finally a little time to lie back and let go a little.

You have already made some experience in IDM last year, what impression has it made on you?

Definitely a positive one. I think of it as one of the top-ten championships in Europe. I have seen only a little, so far, but it seems to be a well organized, with good publicity, I think some big things are waiting to be achieved, there.

Before you signed your current contract to race in the German championship, did you have any offers from WSBK?

I had some offers, even after signing the contract. After how the last season turned out, as it got evident that we can't spend more money on my and Jakub's racing, I made a resolution not to race at all, if I can't race for free. Then I tried the IDM, made myself a good reputation right away, and got an offer you can't turn down. That's the way life goes :)

Let's get back to your new team, could you tell us something about it?

Ingo Härtel and Albert Schedl, the Inghart team owners, decided that a racing team is going to be their business, once they quit the career. They started in 2006, as far as I can remember, and went straight among the top teams in the IDM Superbike series. Our common goal is the WSBK, that's what brings us closer.

How did you prepare during winter?

Early October, I started with physical training. This means gym, biking on an exercise bike, squash and tennis. The motorbike I didn't ride , and now I'm just going to relax. The financial situation forced me to leave out the usual training camp, but I made up for it by working the harder here, at home.

Is it difficult to race and run business, side by side?

Yes it is, but I get a lot of help from my wife, so I can handle it. Now I'm in charge of two companies, once dad decided to let the Honda shop go, in favor of me and Jakub. So now I practically run Honda, Kawasaki, and Can-Am. But I have a team of four clerks, two mechanics, and an irreplaceable secretary Smrzova (Matej's wife) to take giant portions of the burden off my back... :)

When are you leaving for first team testing?

First tests are scheduled for 15. - 18. 3. Then, in early April, I will race in the Dutch championship in Assen, as a part of testing, then 10. - 11. 4. tests in Lausitz and then in late April, the season starts with the first race in Lausitz. Further, I'm planing some four tests on my own during the season, then the mentioned championship / testing in Assen, 2 wildcard WSBK races (Brno and Nürburgring). So the schedule looks tight, but fine for me.

Is your this year's goal the title of the IDM champion?

Yes, of course. I'm not considering other options. Top 3, but nothing but the title of German Champion can contend me.

Matej, thank you, and break a leg. Kamil Štajgl - Fansof96.

My pleasure

19.2.2010MS Racing completed the first tests the factory Aprilia bike in Valencia. Day 2.

The weather has slightly improved compared to monday. Temperature had risen to 10°C and the rain wasn't as heavy as before. The team kept on improving the wet track suspension settings. Even though the testing had been interrupted by a light fall of Michal Salaè, everything was tested that was supposed to be. The next tests are to find place in the beginning of March in Valencia, again.

Ondra Jezek:

"I'm fully satisfied. We managed to set everything according to my needs, I can trust the bike on wet track. The whole theam worked great both days. I'm looking forward to next testing, which will hopefully be on dry surface. There are still a lot of things for me to learn on the new Aprilia"

Michal Salac:

"I had a lighter fall today, which crashed our schedule a little. Nevertheless, I'm satisfied with the outcomes of the testing. The team worked hard both dazs, for which I would like to thank. They made mz growing together with the bike a lot easier. I'm looking forward to the next round of testing, which is going to take place here in Valencia, too."

16.2.2010MS Racing completed the first tests the factory Aprilia bike in Valencia. Day 1.

The cooperation with Aprilia Racing test team, who brought our motorcycle Aprilia RSV4 Factory SST to the track of Valencia, works just splendid. We have access to the factory’s motor telemetry, which we make a great use of by analyzing the data our riders Ondra Ježek and Michal Salaè record on the track with engineers. Despite the bad weather, both the riders as well as the team are satisfied with the outcomes so far. We are all looking forward to tomorrow, the last day of testing, and the weather getting better, hopefully.

Ondra Jezek:

"We made some great progress on the basic bike settings and suspension settings for wet track. I feel very good about the cooperation with Aprilia and the bike. The only thing that worries me a little is the bad weather. Let’s see what tomorrow brings."

Michal Salac:

"We worked on the wet track settings today. I think we did a lot of work, regarding the weather we had to face. The motorcycle is lot faster compared to the stock one we tried here in December. The Aprilia technicians are A+ when it comes to helping and working out issues."

11.6.2009MS Racing this year with Aprilia – Motorcycle presentation.

Racing Team MS Racing from Ceske Budejovice unveiled its plans for the upcoming season during a press conference at the Czech representation of Aprilia. Team owner Martin Smrz introduced a brand new racing special Aprilia RSV4 Factory which his team will use to fight its way through the ten races of Superstock 1000 World Championship. MS Racing changes the equipment brand after long years of cooperation with Honda. The reason is possibility of direct cooperation with the Aprilia factory. Compared to last year, there will be only two riders in this season. Last year’s overall seventh Ondra Jezek will be accompanied by a newbie Michal Salac. The first tests are planned for begining of march in Spain. Season’s first race will take place in Portimao, Portugal, last march weekend.

Ondrej Jezek:

"I would like to be a significant part of the fights for podium, after my first season’s seventh place. I’m glad the team decided to go with Aprilia. I know we are going to have plenty of work with the new machines in the pre-season testing. Though, I believe we can handle that and achieve some fair results in Portimao and Valencia, already."

Michal Salac:

"This season is going to be a completely new experience to me; I’ve spent all winter working out intensively and I hope we will grow together quickly with the motorcycle and the class, so I would be able to compete for the best possible results. I would like to thank the MS Racing team for being able to start on its behalf this season. I’ll do all I can to achieve best possible results with this great team. It will be hard, but I am prepared to give my best."
